Dr. Don C. Green graduated with his associate degree from Navarro College in 1956, completed his bachelor’s and master’s degree at Sam Houston State University, and his PhD in Biology from Texas A&M University.

He moved to San Marcos when a faculty position became open and taught in the biology department at Southwest Texas University.

Don’s career in academia grew, the growing institution asked Don to help develop an education degree program in health professions.

After a few years of hard work and dedication, Don hired the first faculty for the new School of Health Professions in 1973.

As its founding dean, Dr. Green mentored faculty and students. He retired from the university in 1991.
